Art students are working to create ceramic works of art, that represents their family's heritage.
These are the steps for this project:
1) As a class we studied the ceramic artist Annette Corcoran.
2) Students collected Data (through the 'Family History Worksheet')
3) Students learned what a creditable internet resource was, and then applied that skill, into researching what their own individual cultures ceramic styles were. We also collected information from these creditable sources, about how ceramics was created and used in their cultures historic manner.
4) We took the information we collected and wrote a short paper about our own heritage and its collection to ceramics, with the information we collected from the different websites.
5) We learned basic vocab, application, and techniques with clay, by creating a small animal project out of clay.
6) Then we created a ceramic drawing for our designs in which we wanted to achieve for our main project. These drawing designs were to reflect the ceramic culture in which each of the students studied based off of their own heritage.
7) We worked on our ceramic designs, while filling out worksheets that helped us to set daily goals for ourselves, and also in to be held accountable for our use of in class time.
